What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored by your web browser (E.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari) on your computer, mobile phone or tablet. They allow websites to store things like user preferences or authentication.

Cookies allow web applications to recognise you, and serve relavent data to you. Cookies can be "persistent" or "session" cookies, which defines the lifespan of a cookie.

How VisionPLM uses cookies

When someone uses or accesses VisionPLM, we may place a number of cookies in your web browser.

Those cookies serve two essential purposes: 1) to authenticate users (And keep the business data inside secure) and 2) to ensure all actions taken in the application are being made by the user, and not an outside attacker.

These cookies are referred to as "FastReactAuthentication" and "FastReactAntiForgeryCookie". Both of these cookies are secured by HTTPS, encrypted by VisionPLM and configured to be session cookies.

VisionPLM also uses a cookie referred to as "FastReactNotificationCookie". The purpose of this cookie is to allow VisionPLM to notify users with the reasoning when being redirected to another page, an example of this, would be trying to access a page without the required data permission. This cookie has a small lifespan and only lasts one request cycle.
