Thank you for entrusting your data with VisionPLM and Coats Digital. Holding on to your account information is a serious responsibility, and we want to use this statement to let you know how we’re handling it.

Whether your VisionPLM software is installed on your own premises or in the cloud with our Azure Services, that duty of care is our top priority.

What we collect

When you are browsing the VisionPLM website we collect the same basic information that most websites collect. We do this through cookies and web server logs, and we collect this information from everybody, even those without a VisionPLM account.

We collect what web browser you are using, what language you are browsing in, what web page you came from and what Vision PLM web page you are going to.

We do this so we can understand how users interact with VisionPLM, and so we can monitor and protect VisionPLM’s security.

Plausible Analytics

We may also enable Plausible Analytics to better understand how you use VisionPLM. This helps us build faster processes and better features. All data we capture is annoymous.

User Accounts

When creating a VisionPLM account, the website will be asked for 4 things – a display name, an email address, a username, and finally a password.

We ask for a display name so other users know who is doing what in VisionPLM. Activities, Key Users and Audit will all refer to users by their display name. PLM is a collaborative tool by nature and this field is a core part of that collaboration.

An email address is recorded so VisionPLM can send personalised emails to partners and colleagues. Additionally, VisionPLM can securely email users regarding their account. Need to change a password? VisionPLM will email a hyperlink directly to that secure email account so a user can change their password safely.

A username and password are logged securely so users can log you into the application. Permissions, security and roles are applied to those credentials.

All this information can be changed with the assistance of a VisionPLM Administrator.

Securing your Information

VisionPLM takes reasonable measures necessary to protect the data set out above. We do everything we can to guard against unauthorised access, alteration or destruction of this data. As technology and security methods change we do everything we can to keep up with it. Users can read about those changes in the VisionPLM Release Notes found on the Home page.

Sharing Information

We do not share, sell, rent or trade any of the information we record.
